Wind, solar and heat pumps offer EU escape from LNG dependence by 2030, study says

If the EU meets its solar and wind deployment targets, it could cut gas demand by around one-quarter by 2030, with savings that could exceed the amount of LNG the bloc is expected to import from Qatar. But Europe’s climate and energy transition is giving China a unique opportunity.
