Amazon’s October Prime Day is coming up next week, October 8 to 9. The e-commerce giant has been at this a few years now, to the point that consumers start to anticipate doing some major purchasing during the bi-annual event. Other retailers are getting wise to the benefits of running sales around the same time as Amazon’s big shopping holiday, so if you’re in the market for some new furniture, Wayfair’s Way Day, from October 5 to 7, might be worth checking out.

What is Way Day?

Way Day is described by the furniture giant as its “BIG SALE” (props for brevity, I guess) and the details back it up: There are sales on over 1 million items across the site, some of which will be marked off by up to 80%. The goods include furniture, of course, but also home decor and home improvement tools. Think brands like Martha Stewart, the Scott Brothers, La-Z-Boy, Bissell, and more. It starts right at midnight ET on October 5 and new sales drop every 24 hours. You get free shipping for the three days of the sale, plus certain items will offer free white-glove delivery, so they’re assembled and delivered straight to the room where you want them.

The Wayfair app offers extra discounts and perks like 24-hour early access sales and an extra 20% off eligible products. If you live near Chicago, there will be activities, raffles, and giveaways at the brick-and-mortar store.

Wayfair deals start now

The big sale hasn’t started yet, but Wayfair is already offering deals of the day leading up to the big event—and they come at steep markdowns.

A 70″ Milene tree floor lamp with three bulbs is down to $67.99 from $129.99 and a 3-foot-by-5-foot Moroccan rug is $37.99 instead of $117. The deals of the day have prime real estate on the homepage, so start making your wishlist now.
