US-Iran Talks ‘Progress’ & Lagarde Reported to Leave ECB Early | Daybreak Europe 02/18/2026

On today’s show, the US and Iran have hailed progress in nuclear talks in Geneva, with Tehran’s negotiators scheduled to return with a new proposal in two weeks. Iran says it has reached what it described as a "general agreement" with the US on the terms of a potential nuclear deal.

Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskiy has tasked negotiators to discuss the future of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with Russia during US-brokered peace talks in Geneva today.

The Financial Times reports that Christine Lagarde is expected to leave the ECB before her eight-year term expires in October 2027. The ECB said Lagarde has not taken any decision on the end of her term.
