You’ve heard about the risks of a Chinese invasion or blockade of Taiwan. But another, gray-zone scenario is getting increasingly serious attention from experts and governments: Beijing imposing a “quarantine” on Taiwan. This could enable China to demonstrate control over Taiwan while presenting its actions to the world as wholly unthreatening.
