Technology stocks fall ahead of the US June payrolls report. The yen strengthens sharply against the dollar as traders stay alert for a potential intervention from the Japanese government. Apple is said to have appealed to the Trump administration in an effort to buy Chinese-made memory chips from firms on Pentagon’s blacklist.
