Summit: Germany and France united? | DW News
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz promised a reset of the close alliance with France to keep the European Union strong. He met the French President Emmanuel Macron at their annual government summit in Brühl, Germany. They agree in many fields, but lame duck Macron will leave office in ten months. Merz is worried what will happen when a far right president takes over in Paris.
