Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets talked about cyberbully in suicide observe, police reveal
Police have released additional information about the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets.
Sheets, known as “The Gambler” on the A+E Networks reality show, was found dead at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22. He was 67. The Lake Havasu City Police Department ruled his death a suicide after the toxicology report confirmed there were no drugs in his system.
The day of Sheets’s death, his Storage Wars co-star René Nezhoda claimed that Sheets had faced intense cyberbullying before his death. “Rest in peace Darrell Sheets. Also I know Darrell would want something positive out of this, so he had a guy that [was] really really tormenting him lately. Cyberbullying,” Nezhoda said in a video shared to Instagram.
Authorities launched an investigation into the cyberbullying claims and have now released their findings in an incident report obtained by USA Today.
The report states that authorities located a suicide note tucked away in a closet near where Sheets was discovered. In shaky handwriting, it reportedly read: “I could not take anymore the Facebook bullying.”
Police also interviewed the alleged online bully, describing the man as “extremely uncooperative.” According to the report, the man denied having any involvement in Sheets’s death and said he was “nowhere near” Arizona at the time. The report added that the man claimed to have been receiving “death threats” and would not answer any additional questions.
The report further stated that Sheets’s girlfriend told detectives that Sheets had “not been able to sleep” and was “stressed out” in the days leading up to his death. She claimed that he was “dealing with some issues with a male slandering his name,” and that he had also recently gotten into a “verbal fight” with his son over “family drama.”
Sheets appeared in the first season of Storage Wars in 2010 and remained a key cast member until 2023. The series was filmed in California, where storage lockers can be auctioned off if the rent is not paid for 36 days. The show follows professional buyers who purchase lockers in the hope of turning a profit.

Sheets suffered a heart attack in 2019 and retired to Arizona, where he ran an antique store called Show Me Your Junk.
