South Korea, EU and Japan put together response to Trump’s 25% auto tariffs | DW News

US President Donald Trump has announced a 25 percent tariff on all car and light truck imports into the country, saying the move would ‘spur growth’ in the American economy. The White House said the tariffs would raise 100 billion dollars a year. However, applying them could be tricky as US carmakers are sourcing many components internationally, especially from Canada and Mexico. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she "deeply regretted" the move. World leaders have been reacting to President Trump’s decision to introduce tariffs on imported cars. Many have expressed deep disappointment and acknowledged that the move will hurt their economies.
