After pro golfer Andrea Pavan fell down an elevator shaft in a freak accident Feb. 25, he shared a statement and update on his recovery. “I would like to say a big thank you for all the kind words and wishes I have received over the last 24 hours,” Andrea wrote in a statement shared to X Feb. 27. “I had surgery on my shoulder and back on Wednesday evening and I am currently recovering in the hospital.” The 36-year-old—who shares three young kids with wife Audra Pavan—had mistakenly stepped into an elevator entrance with no cab present, falling three stories and was subsequently rushed to Mediclinic Cape Town Hospital and forced to drop out of the golf tournament. “I now have a lot of rehab and hard work ahead of me but the care I have received so far from the Mediclinic staff has been incredible,” Andrea continued. “The last two days have been difficult, but I am in very good hands and to have so many players, caddies and staff visit and contact me has meant a lot.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1429091/andrea-pavan-pro-golfer-on-elevator-shaft-accident
