Graham Platner, the Democratic candidate for Senate in the US state of Maine, has ended his campaign after sexual assault allegations surfaced, which he denies. Platner, an oyster farmer embraced by many progressive voters as a fresh voice, had been seen as having good chances of beating Republican incumbent Susan Collins as part of Democrats’ hopes of flipping control of the Senate.
