New details have come to light regarding the death of Patrick Muldoon. After the ‘Days of Our Lives’ star died on April 19 at the age of 57, his cause of death was confirmed as a myocardial infarction, more commonly called a heart attack, per his death certificate, obtained by Us Weekly. The certificate—released by the County of Los Angeles’ Department of Public Health—also revealed several underlying factors that led to his death, including hereditary coagulopathy disorder, which is a condition that affects the blood’s clotting activities, per John Hopkins Medicine. The doc also said he suffered from a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that travels to the lungs from elsewhere in the body and blocks blood flow, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
