Pakistan detains main Baloch rights activist | DW News
Authorities in Pakistan have arrested a rights activist from the ethnic Baloch group that was protesting the arrests of their members. The well-known campaigner Doctor Mahrang was detained by security agencies at the protest where at least three others died. Mahrang has long campaigned against the alleged enforced disappearances of the Baloch people by Pakistan’s security forces. The government denies the allegations, insisting that many of the missing have joined separatist groups in the region.
