Pakistan cracks down on overseas press after Kashmir killings | DW News
International media have been banned from reporting in most of Pakistan. New rules require every journalist – foreign or Pakistani – to get government permission to report outside of Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. The announcement came just days after security forces were accused of killing protesters in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. A coincidence, or calculated timing? DW’s Jared Reed discussed this and the state of press freedom in Pakistan with US-based Pakistani journalist Ailia Zehra.
