Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool LIVE: Score and updates as Forest lead feisty encounter after Wood objective

That’s half-time. It’s been feisty, it’s been fun and it’s been full throttle. Forest are good value for their lead which came from Chris Wood’s crisp finish early on.

Williams tries a long throw fromt he opposite side to where Aina has been doing them but fair to say, neither man is exactly Rory Delap… It’s easily headed away after barely reaching the area.

Bit of trickery from Gibbs-White who is then held by Szoboszlai. Gibbs-White wins the free-kick but is furious and then gets booked himself for his protestations and imaginary card-waving to suggest the Hungarian should be yellow carded. Needless from the Forest man

Anderson tangles with Konate and goes down suggesting he’s twisted something but he’s back on his feet soon after.

Mac Allister shoots from distance but it’s deflected wide. Robertson curls in the corner but Murillo heads away and Alexander-Arnold’s follow-up is blocked.

It’s getting a bit niggly out there now. Gravenberch barges a Forest player over before Murillo does likewise to a Liverpool man, disguising it as just accidentally running into each other. Gakpo then trips Aina as he tries to dribble past him.

The atmosphere ramps up another notch

Van Dijk not happy as he forced to cover across and clear the ball for a throw. Think Jordan Pickford every time he’s asked to make a save.

At the other end, Diaz and Gakpo have a two on two but Diaz delays the pass too long and Murillo cuts it out well. Gakpo looks frustrated (not without reason)

Liverpool can’t breach the Forest defensive wall at the moment. Robertson the latest to try a ball over the top but it runs out for a goal-kick.

Salah’s cross then hits Anderson’s hand outside the box, the referee plays advantage but Szoboszlai’s dinked ball runs harmlessly through. Big cheers round the City Ground then follow as Elanga pressures Robertson and wins the throw-in.

Liverpool have definitely settled down and started to control things int he past few minutes but of course it’s Forest who have the lead.

Clever passes between Gakpo and Salah but Aina is there to clear Gakpo’s cross. The Forest defence holding firm so far

Salah cuts inside and dinks a cross to the back post. Gakpo rises above his defender but can’t direct his header on target. Frustration for Liverpool so far.

Robertson whips a cross in and Murillo can only clear for a corner. The Scot takes the set-piece himself but Milenkovic rises highest to head clear.

Diaz hasn’t been particularly involved so far, so his eyes light up when he gets a sight of goal but his shot from 25 yards is high, wide and not so handsome.
