Minnie Driver “Grateful to Be Alive” After Car Crash in France | E! News
Minnie Driver detailed a near-death experience in a car crash alongside friend Ben Homewood while spending time in France, saying in an Aug. 6 Instagram video, “I’m grateful to be alive.” As the Good Will Hunting explained, she and Homewood survived after another car allegedly failed to stop at an intersection on a country road, causing them to collide with it.Though Driver said she suffered a sprained neck, she explained that the emotional effects have been more difficult, noting that she remains in shock and frequently cries as she processes the crash. As she reflected on the loved ones they were able to return home to, Driver—who shares 17-year-old son Henry with ex Timothy J. Lea—said it was her first car accident and credited the Kia they were traveling in, including its surrounding airbags and overall design, with protecting them during the impact. “My brain keeps replaying the crash,” Driver wrote in the caption, adding that crying has felt helpful as she begins to heal. Making a pun about her famous last name, the Starstruck alum celebrated the vehicle she believes saved their lives and thanked those who stopped to help them before emergency services arrived.
