Media freedom teams urge safety of Palestinian journalists | DW News
Palestinian health authorities say two separate Israeli strikes killed at least ten people in Gaza. The strikes hit Gaza City in the north and Nuseirat in central Gaza. Of the ten people killed, five were journalists from the Al-Quds Today television network, which often features leaders from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group in its reporting. They were killed when their vehicle, clearly marked as press, was hit outside a hospital at the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli military said it targeted militants "posing" as journalists. Media freedom watchdogs Reporters without Borders (RSF) and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) condemned this recent Israeli attack as well as the increasing death toll of media workers in Gaza.
