Live: Donald Trump insists Iran warfare will proceed regardless of Tehran’s new management | DW News
The Iran war has entered its second week — and potentially a new phase. US President Donald Trump said that the conflict may only end with Iran’s military and rulers wiped out, as Tehran on Sunday moved toward selecting a new supreme leader. An Iranian official reported that overnight US–Israeli airstrikes damaged several oil facilities in the capital, while missiles and drones continued to fly across the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain all reporting new attacks.
DW takes a broad look at the latest developments in the Middle East and their economic implications with DW’s Shani Rozanes and Yesar Al‑Maleki, a Gulf analyst at the Middle East Economic Survey. Also joining us is Niku Jafarnia, a researcher in the Middle East and North Africa Division at Human Rights Watch. She has more on the investigation into a strike on an elementary school in southern Iran that killed scores of children. This happened early in the war and remains the deadliest incident of civilian casualties so far.
