Kennedy Heir Jack Schlossberg Warns 2026 Midterms Are The ‘Last Chance To Stop’ Trump

Up-and-coming Democrat Jack Schlossberg thinks the 2026 midterm elections might be the “last chance to stop” President Donald Trump.

The grandson of late President John F. Kennedy and current congressional candidate laid out the stakes while appearing on MS NOW’s “Morning Joe” on Tuesday.

Asked why he wanted to get into the “ugly business” of politics at such a tumultuous time, Schlossberg told anchor Willie Geist, “America is turning 250 years old this year and I’m a spiritual person and I think its coming at this moment for a reason. We’re at a crossroads.”

“I ask myself, as I consider where we are today, in light of where we came from, what happened?” he wondered, noting how people’s confidence in the government is at an all-time low.

“I’m running right now because I still believe in politics,” Schlossberg continued. “I still believe politics is a noble profession and I still believe in a future that looks way better than the present moment we’re living through.”

The 33-year-old political scion also said it was time for new leaders to take on Washington D.C.: “People are also sick and tired of being sick and tired of this president and they want to send a new generation to Congress that knows how to fight and also how to win, because we need to deliver.”

“If we don’t win this election and Democrats don’t take back the House, we will not get another chance to stop Trump,” he went on.

“And we don’t know what comes with the other side of that,” Schlossberg continued. “So, a lot of people, in this district, are very concerned about stopping Trump right now,” he said of the New York City district where he is seeking Rep. Jerry Nadler’s (D-N.Y.) seat.

Schlossberg, who announced his bid for office last November, publicized a high-profile Democratic endorsement that same Tuesday.

In a statement from former Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) posted to X, the Democratic heavyweight heralded Schlossberg’s “passion for solving problems — particularly his ability to engage and inspire young people — and said there is incredible excitement around his candidacy.”
