James Van Der Beek and Kimberly Van Der Beek renewed their wedding vows after 15 years of marriage, days before his death on Feb. 11, in a “simple, and beautiful, and moving” ceremony. “We decided two days beforehand and our friends got us new rings, filled our bedroom with flowers and candles and we renewed our vows from bed,” Kimberly shared with ‘People’ in an interview published Feb. 17. The ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star and Kimberly—parents to Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 9, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 4—had family and a few close friends in attendance for the intimate ceremony, Kimberly shared, where friend and Instrumentalist Poranguí, closed with “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” James Van Der Beek died at the age of 48, after a years long battle with colorectal cancer.
