Israel-Hamas warfare: 34 hostages to be exchanged in a doable ceasefire? | DW News
There is conflicting information as to whether the Palestinian militant group Hamas has approved a list of hostages to be released in Gaza. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Hamas has not provided a list of names. But, a Hamas official earlier told Reuters news agency that the group had approved a list of 34 hostages presented by Israel to be exchanged in a possible ceasefire. Also earlier Israel said indirect negotiations had resumed in Qatar for a ceasefire and hostage release deal.
Despite the talks, Israel has stepped up airstrikes in Gaza, killing dozens of people.
