Is Trump’s base getting uneasy concerning the battle in Iran? | DW News

A top counterterrorism official in the Trump administration today resigned in protest against the war in Iran. In his resignation letter, National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent said the Islamic Republic posed no imminent threat to the United States that justified starting the war. Kent also said Israel and its ‘powerful American lobby’ had pressured Washington into the conflict. Kent was appointed by President Donald Trump. He is the first senior US official to resign because of the war.
