He succeeds his father – the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in that role. Earlier Donald Trump said whoever the new chief is he will "not last long" – both the US and Israel are pledging to kill Iran’s leaders. It comes as Israel’s military targeted fuel depots around the capital.
