The fall of the Assad regime has many Syrian refugees in Turkey hoping they’ll be able to return home soon. The UN’s refugee agency says Turkey has registered around 3.2 million Syrians. A day after rebels seized control of Damascus, Syrian refugees are lining up at border crossings.
UNICEF says around 90 per cent of families in Syria are living in poverty, with more than 16 million people dependent on aid.
