How diversified meals manufacturing can fight world meals insecurity, exacerbated by local weather change
Europe’s climate monitor has confirmed that 2024 was the warmest year on record. 2024 was also the first calendar year which reached 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels, the threshold scientists warn significantly increases the impacts of climate change. Brazil is particularly affected by extreme weather, and is reeling from one of the worst droughts in its history. The climate conditions have been especially difficult for farmers. DW visited one cattle breeder in the northeastern state of Bahia to see how the lack of rain has impacted him, and the steps he must take to keep his animals alive.
