Greg Gutfeld Spews Dumb Theory On Why Dems Ask Trump If He’ll Accept Results

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said Democrats are “planning something” because they often ask Republican nominee Donald Trump if he’ll accept the results of the 2024 election. (Watch the video below.)

Gee, we were thinking they ask because Trump refused to accept the fair victory by President Joe Biden in 2020, persistently lied about it being rigged, and inspired a riot to overturn the results. He continues to regard that campaign as stolen and has hinted at violence if his 2024 race against Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t go his way. And he continues to regurgitate baseless claims that Democrats will cheat. The Washington Post on Monday reported on the fearmongering and harassment of election officials that Trump and allies could use to try to reverse another loss.

So that’s why.

But Gutfeld seemed to living in an alternative universe on Fox News’ “The Five” on Monday.

“I think they’re planning something,” Gutfeld said, presumably about the vice president and her backers. “Because you keep hearing the same question, ‘Would you accept the outcome of this election?’ They keep asking that same question. Isn’t that a strange question to ask? As if you sound like you’re getting ready to do something? ‘You better accept this election no matter what happens, Dana,’” he playfully admonished co-host Dana Perino.

Gutfeld oddly likened the question to asking someone if they’re going to tip a service person before that service is provided.

“You’ve got to ask yourself, ‘Why? Why are you asking me that?’” he said.

Gutfeld has already sown doubt about the nearing election, suggesting even before the vice president’s nomination that Democrats are “cooking up” something with the votes and could “resort to dirty electoral tricks.”
