Have you ever replaced something that broke…even though it could probably have been repaired?The EU is strengthening your right to repair. 🔧Rules to make repairs easier and more affordable for consumers will apply in EU countries from 31 July. Here are some of the key elements:➡️ If a product is repaired under warranty, the legal guarantee is extended by one year.➡️ Even after the warranty expires, manufacturers may still have to repair certain products such as washing machines, vacuum cleaners and smartphones.➡️ Spare parts must be available at a reasonable price.➡️ Companies cannot block repairs through hardware, software or contractual clauses.Good for your wallet and for the environment 🌍And repairs are just one example.Today is World Consumer Rights Day, and consumers in the EU enjoy some of the strongest consumer protections in the world, whether you’re shopping, travelling or using digital platforms.
