Fed Holds Rates, Three Officials Dissent in Favor of Hike: Fed Special
The Federal Reserve held rates steady as the majority of FOMC members voted to hold rates unchanged, with three members dissenting in favor of a rate hike. This is the fifth straight meeting where fed officials have elected to leave rates unchanged. Talking to reporters, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh reiterated his goal to bring down inflation and but stopped short of saying he would raise rates. Warsh said raising rates ‘could well be part of that solution,’ but not in isolation. Bloomberg’s Tom Keene, Jon Ferro and Lisa Abramowicz discuss remarks from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh following the Federal Reserve’s latest policy decision on a special edition of Bloomberg Surveillance.
