EU priorities for the UN Commission on the Status of Women

Parliament debates and votes on recommendations to the Council on the EU’s priorities for the 70th session of the United Nations (UN) Commission on the Status of Women, which will focus on women’s unequal access to justice and related forms of legal discrimination.

The Commission on the Status of Women is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality, the rights and the empowerment of women.

The CSW is instrumental in promoting women’s and girls’ rights, documenting the reality of their lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
