England vs Latvia LIVE: Thomas Tuchel set to make staff modifications for World Cup qualifier

Thomas Tuchel kicked off his tenure as England manager with a professional if slightly dull 2-0 victory over Albania at Wembley on Friday night.
Myles Lewis-Skelly scored his first international goal on his senior debut while Harry Kane extended his record tally to 70 goals for the national team.
Despite the win, England’s performance was very reminiscent of the Gareth Southgate era with controlled possession, slow build-up and a lack of runners in the wide areas. Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden took on the latter roles and Tuchel has explained ‘what more he wants’ as he seeks to bring Premier League intensity to the international game.
Anthony Gordon has withdrawn from the squad after picking up a hip injury against Albania and there may be changes to the starting XI with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Marc Guehi brought into the team.

Early team news for Latvia
Latvia have no new injury concerns, with any changes during the Andorra win appearing purely tactical.
Deniss Melinks was taken off at half-time for the more attacking Dario Sits, who scored the winner last week.
Sits may have proved his case to start against England, but expect a well-rested Melinks to keep his place in the starting XI, with defensive resilience sure to be of paramount importance for the visitors.
Predicted Latvia XI: Zviedris; Jurkovskis, Balodis, Cernomordijs; Savalnieks, Melniks, Savaljevs, Ciganiks; Zelenkovs, Ikaunieks; Sits
England early team news
Anthony Gordan has withdrawn from the squad after limping off with a hip injury towards the end of England’s 2-0 win over Albania last Friday.
Morgan Gibbs-White could be in line to step in for Gordan, who didn’t feature in Tuchel’s matchday squad on Friday.
Expect wholesale changes to Tuchel’s starting XI as he works out his favoured team, which could see the likes of James Trafford, Reece James, Jordan Henderson and Jarrod Bowen feature.
Predicted England XI: Trafford; James, Colwill, Guehi, Livramento; Rice, Henderson; Bowen, Bellingham, Rodgers; Kane
Can Tuchel emulate Capello?
Thomas Tuchel could be the first permanent England manager to win his first two competitive games in charge since Fabio Capello in September 2008 (won his first eight).
The last England manager to lose either of his first two competitive matches was Alf Ramsey in 1963 (lost both).
Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham plan reveals England direction under Thomas Tuchel
A first game that was encouraging rather than electrifying, with most of the new excitement offered by Myles Lewis-Skelly rather than any sense of a new era. Thomas Tuchel’s week culminated in the teenager’s night, as he became England football team’s youngest ever debutant goalscorer in this professional 2-0 win over Albania.
You wouldn’t have guessed Lewis-Skelly was a mere 18 years and 176 days – or at least you wouldn’t if you hadn’t seen Arsenal this season – with the way he confidently drove up the line.
England’s rising star
Jude Bellingham has played 41 times for England, the most caps ever won for the Three Lions while aged 21 or younger.
He’s been directly involved in eleven goals (five goals, six assists) in his last 16 games and could either score or assist in three consecutive matches for the first time.
Rice on Tuchel
“The way he wants his midfielders to play is very similar to how I have it at club so it’s not been too much different in terms of playing through the number six and playing to the number eights,” said Declan Rice when talking about Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.
“Over time, we’re going to be able to get his style much more but the other night, we passed the ball really well and there were a lot of things there that he was happy with but stuff that we can keep improving on.”
‘The energy is really good’
Declan Rice spoke about being back in the England camp.
He said: “The energy is really good. Training has been amazing – the energy in training has been really top. The manager addressed that on the first day after the first session. There were a group of boys that were doing a recovery session and we watched and we were like, ‘wow, this is top tempo and really sharp’. That’s been the theme of the whole really.
“It’s my first time working with Thomas and he’s really energetic and he cares so much about his players. We have one goal which is to get to the World Cup and we want to add the second star on to the shirt and he’s been massive on that. We’re all on the same page on that.”
Thomas Tuchel promises to take hard line in club vs country row over England players
Thomas Tuchel has warned that club managers can expect no favours when it comes to rests and team selections as his England side push for World Cup victory, but that all choices will be “responsible”.
The national team are in a strange situation this week, as they face two World Cup qualifiers in the space of 72 hours, which goes against Fifa’s own recommendations. Monday’s match at home to Latvia starts at 7.45pm, less than a full three days after Friday’s 2-0 win over Albania ended.
This intense schedule was put to Tuchel, and whether it might influence his decisions given the period is also when a long club season gets to the business end.
Tuchel on what he’s expecting from Latvia
The England boss said: “I think we are clear favourites in the next match. I think it will be difficult to predict exactly what Latvia is doing.
“We are right now watching clips from their match against Andorra, we’re watching clips from North Macedonia and we’re watching clips from the Faroe Islands.
“They’re facing a new level of opponent with us. I think we need mentally to adapt to that kind of role than try to implement our structure on the ball and have a good mix of, ‘what does it make sense to change our structure to make life easier for our players to defend and have high ball wins?’
“This is the question that we have to answer – how much we can predict.”
