‘Disillusioned’ Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi to ‘get the hell out’ of U.S. after Trump’s win
President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly driven two more liberal celebrities out of the country.
According to a TMZ report Wednesday, actresses Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have decided to never come back to the U.S. after Mr. Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris on Nov. 5.
The couple already had bought a home in the Cotswolds region in southwest England before Mr. Trump’s victory but now has also decided to list their house in Montecito, Calif.
“Donald Trump’s election win was the driving force,” TMZ wrote, citing “sources with direct knowledge.”
They were “very disillusioned” and immediately decided “to get the hell out,” TMZ reported.
The Wrap reported similarly, saying Ms. DeGeneres and Ms. de Rossi have in fact moved to England, “plan to never return to the United States” and are “telling friends the election of Donald Trump was their primary motivation.”

The entertainment-news site cited “a person close to the former TV host.”
Ms. DeGeneres was one of Ms. Harris’ legions of show-business supporters, endorsing her on social media and donating to her campaign.
“There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for Kamala Harris to be our next president,” she wrote on Instagram.
Dozens of high-profile American celebrities threatened to leave the U.S. if Mr. Trump won. But Ms. DeGeneres and Ms. de Rossi join Eva Longoria as the highest-profile ones yet to make good on their promise.
