D4vd Case: Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Cause of Death Revealed | E! News

Authorities have released new details in the murder investigation involving 14‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Nearly a week after musician D4vd—real name David Anthony Burke—was arrested in connection with her death, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed her cause of death as multiple penetrating injuries caused by objects, with the manner of death ruled a homicide. According to the medical examiner’s April 22 release, Hernandez sustained two penetrating injuries to her torso, including damage to her liver. The report also noted the presence of controlled substances in her system, including benzodiazepines and methamphetamine/MDMA. Her remains were discovered last September inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke. Burke was arrested on April 16 and charged with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. Prosecutors allege he invited Hernandez to his Hollywood Hills home and killed her after she threatened to expose his alleged conduct. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is being held without bail as he awaits trial.
