Craig Melvin has spoken out to ensure fans that he is safe following an incident with an unauthorized intruder on the set of ‘Today’ July 16. In an Instagram post shared the same day, the news anchor wrote that he is “doing just fine,” and that he is “looking forward to seeing [everyone] tomorrow morning.” According to reports from multiple outlets, the suspect in question was able to access an area close to the studios for ‘Today’ while asking for weather anchor, Al Roker. Upon encountering Melvin, the suspect allegedly lunged at the 47-year-old and called him a racial slur. In a statement provided to E! News, the New York Police Department has confirmed that the intruder was arrested and that no one was injured.
