Celebrity Traitors reside: Kate Garraway is suspected as Paloma Faith meets her maker in shock episode 2 twist

Paloma Faith is first faithful murdered in Celebrity Traitors

The second episode of Celebrity Traitors has seen Paloma Faith murdered with a slow-acting poison by Alan Carr – truly a sentence few would have anticipated reading this week.

Carr, who was selected to be a traitor alongside singer-songwriter Cat Burns and TV presenter Jonathan Ross, touched Faith’s face with pollen from a “dark lily”. However, Faith survived until the morning, with she and the rest of the faithfuls tasked with figuring out which one of their own had been killed via a game set in a graveyard.

Faith’s murder was met with a mix of sadness and shock by the rest of the faithfuls, with Kate Garraway exclaiming “I’m flabbergasted!” at the sight of Faith being shoved into a coffin.

This remark came back to bite Garraway, however, with Tom Daley and Tameka Empson both making note of her apparent “over-reaction” to Faith’s demise. As the episode continued, suspicion was cast on Garraway by multiple faithfuls, while YouTuber Niko Omilana also drew distrust.

The episode culminated with presenter Claudia Winkleman gathering the cast at the very first roundtable, which saw them voting to boot out the person they most believe to be a traitor – but only after some tense interrogations. There, Garraway defended her actions by proclaiming “I’m just a ham!”, but few seemed entirely convinced.

A cliffhanger ending saw Stephen Fry tasked with what could be the deciding vote, with Garraway receiving three votes (from actor Ruth Codd, Empson, and Burns), Omilana receiving three (from Carr, comedian Lucy Beaumont and rugby player Joe Marler), Empson receiving two (from Garraway and actor Mark Bonnar), and Daley receiving one (from Omilana).

Celebrity Traitors will continue next Wednesday at 9pm.

Despite tabloid reports that Paloma was allegedly furious about being murdered by Alan Carr, she has expressed her forgiveness.

“I maintain to this day that, if the shoe was on the other foot, I wouldn’t have done that,” Paloma explained on Uncloaked, after being asked whether time has healed her sense of betrayal over being murdered by Alan Carr.

“I don’t think he should have done it to me, and I’m surprised that he did. But he is extremely loveable and I’ve spoken to him since and I do forgiveness quite an easy thing, so I love him.”

Paloma’s thoughts on the exposed traitors!

On spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, freshly murdered Paloma Faith said she had “no suspicions at all” about Jonathan Ross, after learning he was a traitor all along. She was more surprised by Cat Burns, proclaiming “oh my god, these people just killed me out of malice!”

But she reserved her most shock for Alan Carr. “Bang out of order! I hope they never call me again, and I mean that!”

“I feel even more betrayed now — by Jonathan and Alan, and actually Cat because she’s on the same record label as me and she should have some loyalty.”

We’re gonna miss Paloma, aren’t we?

Cat has voted for Kate, citing her “loudness”.

Three for Kate, three for Niko, two for Tameka, one for Tom.

Niko has voted for Tom, saying “The UK’s golden boy might have a good traitor streak in him.”

Poor, seemingly doomed Kate has voted for Tameka.

Joe has voted for Niko.

Lucy has voted for Niko.

This is tense!

The votes are in! Ruth has voted for Kate, citing her “changed behaviour” and “more animated” expressions whenever traitor-nonsense occurs.

Tameka votes for Kate, too. Citing the same.

Alan votes for Niko.

Mark votes for Tameka for “inconsistencies in behaviour”.

We’ve reached the part of the show where everyone’s just going around in circles a bit, aren’t they?

Kate, Tameka, Niko and Tom have all been marked for suspicion, but often due to “overreactions” or vague suggestions of game playing. Everyone’s just grasping at straws, which I suppose is how The Traitors has always functioned.

Anyway, now it is time for the votes…

Niko is doing a good job defending himself, by the way. Suspicion has fallen on him, with suggestion that he deliberately put himself in one of the coffins earlier to throw people off the scent. But this theory, as Niko correctly suggests, is pretty silly.

Next up for suspicion: Tameka, Mark saying that her reaction to the coffin task was over-the-top.

Perhaps these are all very dramatic famous people doing the absolute most because they’re very dramatic famous people?

Fashion interlude!

A quick interjection courtesy of our fashion writers!

Claudia has brought her sartorial A-game to compete with the starry – and stylish – A-lister contestants. In episode one, the presenter debuted a mega pair of Givenchy boots and an elegant Chloe military-style coat. But for this episode, Claudia’s stylist Sinead McKeefry has upped the ante with the punk-infused outfits – think black stomper boots, ruffled shirts and even a lace veil for the “funeral”. Find out the full outfit details from the first two episodes below.

After Stephen quotes Sherlock Holmes (naturally), we get to the good stuff. Kate addresses that she’s aware people are suspicious of her. Cat offers her two cents: “In the mission today, I didn’t know whether your larger response to Paloma’s [murder] was an overcompensation or a genuine feeling.”

“I’m a massive ham!” Kate replies.
