CBS News’ John Dickerson Sounds Alarm On Just How Unrestrained Trump Will Be

CBS News chief political analyst John Dickerson explained just how unrestrained he believes President-elect Donald Trump will be during his second term.

Trump “no longer has the constraints we associate with the presidency,” Dickerson told Stephen Colbert on Wednesday’s broadcast of “The Late Show.”

“Presidents always want to do stuff but they are constrained by traditions of the office,” he noted.

But the highly impulsive Trump, said Dickerson, now doesn’t have to worry about reelection, the legal system, political consequences such as impeachment, an adversarial Congress or Democrats who may have been chastened by Kamala Harris’ loss.

“Those have all been taken away. So you have a person of an impulse with all of those things gone,” said Dickerson.
