Marc Guehi’s move to Liverpool from Crystal Palace is off – despite a deal sheet being submitted for the Eagles skipper.
The Reds had until 9pm to get Guehi’s deal over the line. We’ll get more details on why it’s fallen through as we have them.
Brighton defender Igor Julio, who was meant to be Guehi’s replacement at Selhurst Park, had a medical at the club earlier today before changing his mind and join West Ham instead – although that deal isn’t done yet either.
That may have scuppered the move. It means Guehi will stay at Crystal Palace, but they may now lose out on £35m if he leaves on a free transfer next summer.
It’s an extraordinary bunfight from clubs across the Premier League to try to get deals over the line.
