BBC Apologizes for Racial Slur Heard During BAFTAs 2026 Broadcast | E! News
The BBC apologized for not editing a slur from John Davidson, whose experience with Tourette’s is the subject of the film ‘I Swear,’ while ‘Sinners’ stars Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo presented at BAFTAs 2026. A spokesperson shared in a Feb. 23 statement, "Some viewers may have heard strong and offensive language during the BAFTA Film Awards. This arose from involuntary verbal tics associated with tourette syndrome, and as explained during the ceremony it was not intentional.” The statement added, "We apologize that this was not edited out prior to broadcast and it will now be removed from the version on BBC iPlayer."
