Baywatch’s David Charvet Responds After Hitting, Killing Dog With Car | E! News
David Charvet’s morning took a tragic turn. While driving his truck in a Malibu neighborhood during the early morning hours of April 16, the ‘Baywatch’ alum allegedly struck and killed a pet dog, law enforcement told People and TMZ. A spokesperson for the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department told People that an investigation is underway, though it appears Charvet’s actions were not intentional. "It sounds like it was accidental and that the dogs were off leash and ran into the roadway," the spokesperson told the outlet on April 16. "[Charvet] tried to swerve to avoid hitting them.” Charvet’s rep also offered a similar recollection of events to TMZ, alleging that the ‘Melrose Place’ actor was driving slowly around 5:30 a.m. when he encountered a woman and her dogs in the middle of the street. Though the rep said Charvet moved to the side to safely pass them, "one of the dogs moved under the vehicle.” Charvet is best known for playing Matt Brody in ‘Baywatch’ from 1992 to 1996, as well as Craig Field on ‘Melrose Place’ from 1996 to 1998. The actor was also married to ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alum Brooke Burke—with whom he shares daughter Heaven, 19, and son Shaya, 18—from 2011 to 2020.
