AJ McLean nominated the Backstreet Boys for the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show. During a Feb. 11 concert at the Sphere for the group’s Into The Millennium residency in Las Vegas, AJ playfully floated the idea of the boy band taking on the 2027 Halftime Show, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. In an Instagram video captured by @jpasc24, AJ asked the crowd, “What do you guys think? Backstreet Boys…2027…Super Bowl Halftime?” The audience erupted with cheers, prompting AJ to respond, “Let’s make it happen then!” The Backstreet Boys—also consisting of Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter and Brian Littrell—have a unique Super Bowl connection. Back in 2001, the group was offered the opportunity to perform during the Halftime Show but ultimately declined, instead singing the national anthem at the event.
