Brighton are offering support to head coach Fabian Hurzeler with the German’s job not immediately under threat after their latest setback.
Chair Tony Bloom together with the club hierarchy are remaining calm and a change is not being considered at this stage, Sky Sports News understands.
The scrutiny has increased on Hurzeler due to a disappointing run of form that has seen the Seagulls win just once in 13 Premier League matches. Their woes were compounded when they were eliminated from the FA Cup at the weekend losing 3-0 at Liverpool. Brighton are currently 14th in the table, seven points above the relegation zone.
A small section of fans booed at the end of the 1-0 home defeat by Crystal Palace earlier this month and chanted "You’re getting sacked in the morning". The reaction left players and staff surprised and there’s a feeling that it was a bit excessive. During the last two away games at Aston Villa and at Liverpool, the travelling support fully backed the players and there were no boos aimed at the head coach.
