A line drawn during last year’s ceasefire is now reshaping life across Gaza — often with deadly consequences. The so-called "yellow line" divides Israeli-controlled areas from the rest of the enclave, but on the ground it is frequently unmarked and constantly shifting. For civilians, crossing it — sometimes unknowingly — can be fatal. As Israel expands its control and new restricted zones emerge, many fear these temporary lines could become permanent borders.
