Amal Clooney reflected on how her personal and professional lives have evolved since marrying George Clooney in 2017, detailing how she’s overcome her initial worries about fame. "I used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different, and I was able to not have them mix," Amal said at a Cartier Speaks event in Bangkok, per People, "and then I got married and that changed quite a lot.” After all, her high-profile marriage meant Amal—shares 9-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with George—had many more eyes on her. At first I was kind of conscious of that one-dimensional view,” she explained, "where I felt like, well, I can’t be seen wearing this dress or doing this because I’m in front of a judge on Monday." The 48-year-old ultimately realized that some of those initial worries weren’t worth the stress. "It just doesn’t matter as much as living your life," Amal explained, "and ultimately if you’re good at what you do, that is going to shine through or not."
