Justices facet with agrochemicals large Bayer in opposition to most cancers sufferers in weedkiller combat | DW News
The US Supreme Court has backed Bayer in a ruling which is likely to block thousands of lawsuits alleging the German agrochemicals firm failed to warn people that its weedkiller Roundup could cause cancer. The World Health Organization found the chemical glyphosate, a key ingredient in Roundup, was probably carcinogenic. But the court decided that as US regulators approved the product’s warning label, many lawsuits cannot go forward. Claimants’ groups are furious. DW’s Ben Fajzullin talks through the implications with Nathan Donley from the Center for Biological Diversity.
