One month after Ebola erupted in the Democratic Republic of Congo, infectious disease expert Aileen Marty tells DW why it is shaping up to be the worst outbreak of its kind in history. With no reliable test and no approved vaccine, the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola is spreading in an area where infected people can travel easily. Journalist Al Katanty Djaffar reports that another obstacle to containing this outbreak is the lack of trust, as it is spreading in a region where no one trusts anyone.
