MEPs debate the EU-US commerce guidelines earlier than the ultimate vote on the settlement

The European Parliament debates EU-US tariff rules before the final vote following an agreement reached in 2025.

The legislation would remove most tariffs on industrial and agricultural goods imported from the United States, while introducing safeguards to protect key EU industries and farmers. The tariff preferences would remain in place until the end of 2029 unless renewed.

The final vote takes place next day after the debate, on Tuesday, 16 June at 12:30.

If approved by the Parliament, the legislation will require formal approval by the Council before entering into force.
