Scott Pelley Slams “Heartbreaking” Direction of 60 Minutes After His Firing | E! News
Scott Pelley is sharing his perspective. Shortly after the longtime ’60 Minutes’ correspondent was fired from his position at CBS News, he reiterated his previous sentiment about the direction the storied news program was headed since David Ellison’s company Skydance acquired CBS’ parent company Paramount and installed Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief in October. “The new owner of the network is casting this legend aside,” Pelley wrote in a lengthy statement obtained by MS NOW June 3, “apparently to curry a moment of favor with the Trump administration.” Pelley specifically called out the direction CBS News’ editor-in-chief Weiss and new-installed ’60 Minutes’ executive producer Nick Bilton are taking the program, which he previously expressed in a June 2 staff meeting. The journalist alleged that the new leadership of CBS News has been riddled with “incompetence and unprofessionalism.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1432611/60-minutes-scott-pelley-fired-cbs-news-anchor-breaks-silence
