On today’s show, the Chinese President Xi Jinping warned against resuming military operations in the Middle East, at the start of talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Xi stepped up calls for a truce, saying "a comprehensive ceasefire is imperative". US President Trump has threatened to resume strikes on Iran in the coming days if there’s no deal to end the war.

Talks between Samsung and its largest labor union have broken down, with workers planning to go on strike on Thursday. A walkout at the world’s largest memory chipmaker risks disrupting the global technology supply chain.

Plus, the European Union has finally agreed the wording of a trade deal with the US, after President Trump threatened higher tariffs if a July 4 deadline was not met.
