Lebanon’s economy has been in crisis since 2019, but business owners say renewed fighting between Hezbollah and Israel – despite the announced ceasefire – is making matters even worse. In Damour, south of Beirut, beach resort owner Mohamad Bazzi says fears over safety and economic uncertainty are driving customers away, putting the country’s summer tourism season at risk.
