Protests in Bolivia that began over wages and fuel prices have escalated into nationwide unrest and calls for President Rodrigo Paz to resign. Police and military forces have clashed with demonstrators blockading major roads in and out of the capital La Paz. The blockades have fueled a shortage of basic goods in the city.
