Iran Peace Efforts Falter & China Confirms Trump-Xi Summit | The Pulse 05/11/2026

Efforts to end the 10-week Middle East conflict have faltered, as the US and Iran rejected each other’s peace proposals. President Trump has described Iran’s response as ‘totally unacceptable.’

China has finally confirmed President Trump’s state visit this week, green-lighting the first US presidential trip to China in nearly a decade. Trump is expected to press President Xi Jinping over China’s approach to Iran. The two leaders are also set to hammer out details on a new board of trade.

Plus UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is battling to save his premiership with a make-or-break speech in Downing Street. It follows his ruling Labour party’s sweeping losses in last week’s local elections.
