Palestinians vote within the occupied West Bank and Gaza in first elections since outbreak of struggle

Palestinians are voting for the first time since the Gaza war began in October 2023, with municipal elections taking place across the occupied West Bank and — for the first time in two decades — in one city in Gaza. More than one million Palestinians are eligible to cast ballots. Voting is concentrated almost entirely in the occupied West Bank, but is also being held in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza — the only city in the enclave with enough infrastructure and stability to hold elections. DW has the latest from the occupied West Bank.
